Mavericks Beach Club
Mavericks Beach Club is located right in the heart of Pacific Beach on Garnet Ave. Surround by the nearby bars, beach and the pier, it’s a perfect location to stop with your pup.
At night, Mavericks Beach club can get a little rowdy, which we enjoy… but during the day, the restaurant has a fun, cozy, beach-house-like vibe that both you and your dog can enjoy.
You’ll enjoy the food as well. We particularly recommend the Mavericks Burger, the Ahi Bowl, and the Crispy Calamari. Your dog will like something off the Mutt Menu, which includes chicken, burgers, and even fancier dishes made specifically for dogs. Mavericks also regularly hosts events for dogs, such as Wag Wednesdays.
Casa De Freds
If you’re in Old Town, or you wanted to take a nice stroll in that area, Casa De Freds is a go-to spot. Fred’s is a Mexican sidewalk café that serves up some tasty enchiladas, fajitas, and tacos.
Your dog can join you at the outdoor tables and socialize with other canine customers while you eat them. You can also order something for your dog to eat from the Doggie Menu. With dishes like Buddy’s Bowl (which is chicken strips and fries) and Snoopy’s Scrambled Eggs, your pup is sure to find something that they really love.
Pro tip: get the Flan and Bunuelos for dessert! It’s unbelievably decadent.
The Regal Beagle
The Regal Beagle keeps it simple by serving basic tavern-style food done well. You and your dog can enjoy it together outside on the patio. In fact, you’ll even be ordering from the same menu, because The Regal Beagle does not have a dedicated doggie menu.
However, it does make an impressive array of impressively tasty house-made sausages. They are the chief reason to come to this place. And your dog will enjoy them every bit as much as you do… if not more. You should pair them with the various beers and hard ciders that The Regal Beagle serves.
Sally’s Fish House & Bar
Are you a seafood lover? Head over to Seaport Village to Sally’s Fish House & Bar. While there, you can enjoy a variety of locally sourced, ocean-to-table seafood dishes. They make a really nice glazed tuna. The Mahi Mahi fish tacos are also amazing.
You can enjoy them outside by the grassy area they have set aside for their canine customers. Sally’s Dog Menu even has a dog menu with doggie food such as the Crab Cookies or Sally’s Famous Pupcakes. If you spoil your dog as we do, we recommend getting the bacon topping for the Pupcakes.
Bull’s Smokin’ BBQ
This is a nice little BBQ joint that welcomes dogs in the outside seating area is right on Morena Blvd close to Friars Rd. While you enjoy the sausage, brisket, and ribs, your doggie pal can enjoy gnawing on a tasty beef bone. That will keep them distracted through your entire meal, no matter how long it takes.
And if you’re taking your time with your meal, you should try the side dishes. We recommend that you get the gumbo and the hush puppies as sides. The homemade mac and cheese is pretty good, too, though.
Level 9 Rooftop Bar
You typically don’t think a rooftop bar would be dog-friendly. Level 9 is located on the 9th floor of the Hotel Indigo high above Petco Park with amazing views. But best of all… it’s dog-friendly.
The views of the city are spectacular and you can enjoy that view and the fresh air with cocktails and some light dishes. Best of all, you can enjoy them with your canine companion at your side. Level 9 has table seating and some comfy couches, too, as well as a fire pit. There is no menu just for dogs, but nobody’s going to mind if you share some of your food with your furry friend.
Miss B’s Coconut Club
Miss B’s Coconut Club is a tiki-themed restaurant with an extensive American – Caribbean menu. The jerk chicken wrap and breakfast tacos at this place are our favorites. They’ve got a huge cocktail menu which is great since it’s right by the beach. The house specialty is coconut cocktails for you coconut lovers.
If you enjoy your meal at one of the outside tables, your dog can join you. Outdoor seating allows your furry friend to accompany you. While there’s no specific dog menu, feel free to share your meal. Surprisingly, dogs may favor the burgers over the jerk chicken, unless your pooch has quite a distinctive palate!
Crushed PB
Looking for breakfast or brunch? Head on over CrushedPB. It has a fun, kitschy atmosphere and serves up classic American breakfast foods and some interesting twists on them.
