Arizona Scientists Within 2 Years of Developing Own California Burrito

In a surprising development, officials have announced that Arizona has everything it needs to build its own California burrito. The news came during a recent broadcast of “Taste of Scottsdale,” which included an exclusive glimpse inside Arizona’s state-of-the-art burrito development facility.

Experts at the Burrito Research and Reconnaissance Regiment (BRRR), a national organization monitoring burrito activity, have begun heightened surveillance of Arizona’s burrito development program. It is believed that Arizona restaurants may be as little as two years away from listing respectable California burritos on menus in their state.

“They’ve got a heavily-funded burrito development program,” said a BRRR spokesperson. “We’ve observed tanker trucks, confirmed to be carrying payloads of tortillas and french fries into the facility. But we’ve also recently seen mayonnaise, grape jelly, and sardines go in there, so they must be still quite a long way off from getting this right.”

The Arizona program appears to have been assembling a team of culinary experts, poaching talent from Taco Bell, Chipotle, Jack in the Box, and Chili’s in an effort to duplicate the California Burrito.

This is not the first time Arizona has claimed to be on the verge of such a breakthrough. A similar announcement was made in 2017, but that turned out to be beef jerky with Chili Cheese Fritos in a hot dog bun.
