Around 8:30pm on September 19, 2022 - @SanDiegoHumor followers reported seeing strange lights hovering over the Pacific Ocean along the coast of San Diego. The video shows a series of five lights flickering in the sky. People from Pacific Beach to Carlsbad reported seeing the series of lights which lasted for a few minutes.
A very similar set of 5 lights were seen around 10PM June 27, 2022. In a CBS8 news story, a Coast Guard Public Affairs specialist said it was indeed the navy doing "flare training" although no one reported seeing a plane where the flares may have been dropped from.
Another @SanDiegoHumor follower also submitted a video from the morning of Sept 20th of what looked like a streak or line across the sky.
